Robert Lewandowski reveals what he is going to once he retires as a footballer

What is the normal career path for retired footballers?

In England it normally goes one of two ways: work on a management licence and join (insert former club here) as an assistant or go on to dominate the airwaves as a pundit.

They do things a little differently in Poland, and Portugal for that matter.

Which way to LA?

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has established himself over the last couple of years as one of the best strikers in the world.

From 30-goal seasons in the Bundesliga to scoring three hat tricks for Poland in World Cup qualification this man can do it all.

But can he drive a race car?

You might think it’s an odd question, but in an interview with Playboy the frontman has revealed what he wants to do once he is finished putting the ball in the back of the net on the field.

According to the, erm, leisure magazine Leweandowski is planning to become a racing driver after his football career.

To be fair he has all the necessary attributes of a race driver; speed, agility, reflexes and he finishes well.

It is not clear exactly what type of racing the Pole is planning on but we could see him on the start line against Andre Villas Boas after the former Spurs manager announced he has entered the Dakar Rally.

Last week Anna Lewandowska, the Bayern man’s wife, said he ‘dreams’ of ending his career in Los Angeles.

We are excited for the thought of Lewandowski racing in Nascar.

Vroom, vroom.
