Brazilian wonderkid SKIPS SCHOOL to become youngest ever Copa Libertadores scorer

Back in the day, we used to skip class for any excuse under the sun.

Whether it was because of a new game release, a lack of sleep the night before or maybe just a kick around with our mates down the park, we frequently played truant and turned out just fine, thank you very much.

And the same goes for 17-year-old wonderkid Rodrygo, who reportedly skipped his lessons to play for Brazilian giants Santos in the Copa Libertadores.

"Há um menino, há um moleque, morando sempre no meu coração". Aqui, a história começa bem cedo.

That’s right, he’s became the competition’s youngest ever goal-scorer, beating a record previously held by Diego – the 33-year-old Football Manager legend who played for the likes of Porto, Juventus and Wolfsburg – when he scored back in 2003.

But at 17 years, two months and six days, young Rodrygo is the new record-holder when he scored a fabulous goal in Santos’ 3-1 win over Uruguayan side Nacional on Thursday night.

Check out the goal below.

Speaking after the game, the humble-as-pie kid said: “I’m happy to be the youngest to score.

“I’ve been fulfilling a dream every day. I don’t think they’re going to be mad that I missed class today, right?”

Hmm, we’re hoping for your sake you don’t get detention, pal.
